The DomGas Alliance is a member-driven industry body representing Western Australia’s large domestic gas users.

Our members use domestic gas to turn Western Australia’s natural resources into higher-value products, underpinning key industries and supporting the reliable transition to a lower-emissions economy.

The promise

Western Australia’s Domestic Gas Policy states that producers can export liquefied natural gas (LNG) on the condition that 15 percent is reserved for WA homes, businesses, and industries.

Has not been delivered

A 2024 West Australian Parliamentary Committee inquiry found producers have failed to deliver on this promise.

The report warned gas shortfalls which would threaten jobs, investment, and the State’s economy.

Ensuring WA gets its fair share

The Domestic Gas Policy was introduced to make sure WA’s gas works for WA.

The DomGas Alliance works to ensure the policy and market settings required to ensure a reliable gas supply for Western Australia are in place.

Clear rules, transparent reporting, and adherence to the policy means everyone - not just exporters - can benefit.

Safeguarding WA’s fair share of its own gas means protecting jobs, strengthening industries, and giving the state confidence to invest in the future.

By collaborating constructively with government, producers and local gas users, we help maintain a system that supports competitive industries, strengthens economic resilience and builds long‑term confidence.
